General Description
Rhizomatous. Stems terete, little branched. Submersed leaves linear, terete, 8–15 cm × ca. 1 mm; stipules 2–12 cm long, not sheathing. Floating leaves long-petiolate; blades elliptic to ovate, 3–9 cm long. Spikes 3–5 cm long, continuous. Tepals green, 1–2 mm long. Fruits 4–5 mm long, rounded on back with a curved beak ca. 1 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
