General Description
Stems branched, slightly compressed with globose glands at the nodes. Submersed leaves linear, 1–8 cm × 1–3 mm; stipules 6–18 mm long, sheathing but fraying with age. Floating leaves absent. Spikes ca. 1 cm long with separate whorls of flowers. Tepals green, 1–2 mm long. Fruits ca. 2 mm long, barely keeled with a curved beak (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants.
