General Description
Stems spreading to ascending, 10–40 cm long. Leaves: blades 1–3 mm wide. Inflorescence a contracted to open panicle 7–15 cm long. Spikelets 6–10 mm long. Lemmas about 10 to 30 per spikelet (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
