General Description
Stems 30–100 cm. Leaves: blades 2–4 mm wide; sheaths and collar hairless to hairy; ligule 1–1.5 mm long. Inflorescence a raceme 3–6 cm long, with usually 2 to 4 spikelets. Spikelets 15–25 mm long, with 5 to 7 florets. Lemmas not tightly enfolded by the glumes, 7–10 mm long, hairless except along margins, with awns 8–11 mm long (Lavin in
