General Description
Glabrous perennial from an elongate bulb. Stems ascending to erect, 15–55 cm. Leaves petiolate, basal; blades linear-oblanceolate, 5–25 cm × 2–20 mm. Inflorescence a simple or branched, linear-bracteate raceme with 3 to 20 well-separated, nodding flowers. Flowers regular, campanulate, yellow-green to purplish; tepals united at the base, 8–15 mm long, linear-lanceolate with spreading, acuminate tips; stamens barely included; ovary superior or slightly inferior; style deeply 3-branched. Fruit a lanceoloid, 3-beaked capsule ca. 15 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
