General Description
Sometimes long-rhizomatous. Stems erect to ascending, 10–30 cm. Leaves glabrate; blades 4–10 mm wide, often turning golden-brown with age. Inflorescence open with 1 or 2 flowers on tips of spreading branches. Flowers: purple to brown, 2.5–3.5 mm long; prophylls purplish. Capsules ovoid, 2.5–4 mm long with a beak 0.5 mm or more long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
