General Description
Rhizomatous. Stems erect, terete, 10–40 cm. Leaves basal and cauline; blades flat or channeled, ca. 1 mm wide; auricles obscure. Inflorescence open with 10 to 30 pedicellate flowers; main bract smaller than the inflorescence. Flowers with prophylls; tepals green to tan, 2.5–3 mm long, rounded, hood-like, subequal; stamens 6. Capsules ca. 2.5 mm long, truncate on top; seeds without appendages (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
Sporadic across northern U.S. and adjacent Canada, Eurasia, possibly introduced in at least part of the North American range. Known from Madison County (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
