Pale Spikerush - Eleocharis flavescens

Reported for southwest Montana (Dorn 1984). More information is needed to determine the status of the taxa in the state.
General Description
Tufted perennials from slender rhizomes, 3-15 cm tall. Leaf sheaths membranous, whitish, prolonged, many free from stem. Spikelets 2-6 mm long, ovate, with fewer than 20 flowers. Scales purplish brown with a paler midvein; bristles 6-7, white, equaling or slightly longer than the achene. Achenes ca. 1 mm long, glossy, purplish brown, the surface minutely punctate (adapted from: Welsh et al., 1993, A Utah Flora, 2nd ed.).
According to Kartesz (in prep., 2012) MT has variety thermalis (Rydb.) Cronq.
