General Description
Stoloniferous perennial. Stems 40–100 cm, erect, creeping at the base. Herbage puberulent. Leaves opposite or whorled, lanceolate, serrate, petiolate, 4–12 cm long. Inflorescence a terminal, densely-flowered, puberulent raceme; pedicels 1–2 mm long. Flowers: calyx 2–4 mm long; corolla blue to violet, 6–9 mm across; style 6–10 mm long. Capsule ovoid, 2–4 mm long, glabrous, shallowly notched (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
Introduced sporadically across northern U.S. and adjacent Canada. One collection from Sanders County (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
