Rhizomatous perennial. Stems often branched, basally prostrate, rooting at the nodes, terminally ascending 10–30 cm. Herbage sparsely pubescent. Leaves opposite, 1–3 cm long, sessile or short-petiolate, ovate, deeply serrate. Inflorescence of puberulent axillary racemes; pedicels 5–7 mm long. Flowers: calyx 3–4 mm long; corolla blue, 9–12 mm across; style 3–5 mm long. Capsules not maturing in our material (
