General Description
Rhizomatous perennial. Stems often branched, basally prostrate, rooting at the nodes, terminally ascending 10–30 cm. Herbage sparsely pubescent. Leaves opposite, 1–3 cm long, sessile or short-petiolate, ovate, deeply serrate. Inflorescence of puberulent axillary racemes; pedicels 5–7 mm long. Flowers: calyx 3–4 mm long; corolla blue, 9–12 mm across; style 3–5 mm long. Capsules not maturing in our material (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Missoula County. Introduced to eastern and northwest North America; native to Europe (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Also in Lewis and Clark County in disturbed sites (N. Snow, pers. comm. 2012).
