General Description
Stems erect, simple or branched, 30–80 cm. Herbage glabrous below the inflorescence. Basal leaf blades oblanceolate, 4–15 cm long, shallowly pinnately lobed, crenate, usually pressed flat to the ground. Stem leaves reduced upward, lanceolate, serrate. Inflorescence a narrow, glandular-puberulent raceme. Flowers: calyx 5–7 mm long; corolla white, 15–30 mm across; anthers purple, villous. Capsule 5–10 mm long, glandular (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Disturbed, often stony soil of grasslands, streambanks, roadsides; plains, valleys (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
