General Description
Herbaceous perennial. Stems erect, 4-angled, 40–150 cm, usually simple. Herbage glandular-puberulent, glaucous. Leaves cauline, opposite, petiolate; blades lanceolate to deltoid, 5–13 cm long, serrate. Inflorescence a minute-bracteate panicle of cymes, opposite below, alternate above. Flowers: calyx cup-like, 2–3 mm long, deeply and unequally 5-lobed into rounded, erose segments; corolla reddish-brown, ovoid, 7–10 mm long, bilabiate, upper lip 2-lobed, lower lip shorter; stamens 5, 4 fertile; staminode flattened, without a filament; stigma capitate.
