Taprooted biennial. Stems erect, simple, 50–100 cm. Herbage pubescent, glandular above. Leaves basal and alternate, petiolate; the blade 2–15 cm long, lanceolate, serrate, reduced upward. Inflorescence a secund, bracteate raceme; bracts entire.
