Numerous collections at MONTU from Sanders, Flathead, Glacier, Lincoln, Lewis & Clark, Ravalli, Missoula counties.
Most populations are small. Grows in low-elevation habitats, often in habitats that are not secure, such as on rock faces along trails. Many of the collections at MONTU are old (>20 years).
General Description
Stems weak, prostrate to ascending, 10–30 cm. Leaves 5- to 7-lobed; basal leaves 1–3 cm wide; upper leaves with lobed stipules. Flowers: sepals linear-lanceolate, 1–3 mm long; petals violet (white), 5–9 mm long, nearly erect. Capsule 4–6 mm long (
