General Description
Perennial from a horizontal rootstock. Stems usually solitary, scapose, erect, 15–70 cm, glandular-hairy. Leaves all basal, broadly short-petiolate; the blade sparsely pubescent, lanceolate to narrowly oblanceolate, 4–20 cm long, minutely dentate. Inflorescence glandular, paniculate, open or interruptedly congested. Flowers: calyx cup-shaped with lobes 1–2 mm long; hypanthium 1 mm or less long; petals white, ovate, 2–4 mm long; ovary 1/2 inferior at anthesis, becoming more superior at maturity.
