General Description
Stems 50–150 cm, with paired, large, hooked, nodal prickles, otherwise sparsely prickly. Leaves with 5 to 7, elliptic leaflets, 2–5 cm long; the rachis glandular, often puberulent. Flowers usually solitary at tips of new twigs; hypanthium glabrous to minutely glandular, 5–9 mm wide; sepals 15–35 mm long, glabrous to pubescent, usually stipitate-glandular, persistent, dilated at the tip; petals 20–35 mm long.
