General Description
Tree to 10 meters. Younger branchlets sometimes hairy, often thorny. Leaf blades 2-6 cm long, ovate to elliptic, somewhat serrate, tips acuminate to cuspidate. Petals 8-20 mm long, whitish or pinkish. Fruits 1.5-2.5 cm in diameter, sour. (Adapted from: Welsh et al. 1993, A Utah Flora, 2nd ed.).

Introduced cultivated trees, often persisting and sometimes escaping.
