General Description
Stems erect or ascending, 20–100 cm, hirsute, glandular above. Leaf blades oblong, sparsely hirsute, 8–25 cm long, divided into 4 to 8 ovate, dentate main lateral leaflets; the terminal leaflet cordate-orbicular, 3- to 5-lobed, much larger than the lateral ones. Inflorescence a glandular, open, leafy-bracteate cyme. Flowers erect: hypanthium saucer-shaped; sepals green, 2–5 mm long, reflexed, tomentose on the margins; petals yellow, 4–7 mm long. Achenes 2–3 mm long, villous; persistent style 3–5 mm long, glandular; the deciduous, spreading upper portion hirsute (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Our plants are variety perincisum (Rydb.) Raup.
