General Description
Rhizomatous, aquatic perennial with glabrous to pubescent foliage. Stems prostrate or floating, rooting at the nodes, 15–100 cm. Leaves petiolate; the blades lanceolate with rounded to pointed tips, 2–20 cm long; stipules 1–2 cm long, glabrous or ciliate. Flowers 4–6 mm long, in a terminal spike-like panicle 1–10 cm long; tepals pink. Achene 2-sided, 2–4 mm long, shiny dark brown (
