General Description
Perennial with turions on fine horizontal roots. Stems erect, 5–50 cm. Herbage sparsely puberulent, glandular above. Leaves opposite, mostly sessile, narrowly elliptic, entire to serrulate, 2–8 cm long. Inflorescence a few-flowered raceme, nodding in bud. Flowers white to pink; hypanthium 0.5–1 mm long; sepals glabrous to glandular-puberulent, 1–2 mm long; petals 2–4 mm long. Capsule pedicelate, 15–45 mm long, glabrous or glandular-hairy; seeds reticulate or papillose with a deciduous coma (
