General Description
Rhizomatous perennial. Stems erect, 15–70 cm, simple or branched. Herbage glabrous to puberulent. Leaves sessile to short-petiolate; lanceolate, truncate, shallowly serrate, 2–6 cm long. Inflorescence of 1 or 2, pedicellate, axillary flowers. Flowers: calyx 3–4 mm long, bilabiate, lips entire with a prominent ridge-like appendage on the upper lip; corolla conical, 12–20 mm long, bilabiate, upper lip hood-like, lower lip with reduced lateral lobes; stamens 4, included; style unlobed.
