General Description
Fibrous-rooted perennial, forming loose mats of stolons. Stems erect, 10–30 cm, mostly simple, pubescent. Leaves petiolate, becoming sessile above; blades obovate, crenate, 2–10 cm long, glabrate. Inflorescence crowded; verticillasters in axils of upper leaves and bracts. Flowers: calyx villous, 4–5 mm long, the equal lobes just shorter than the tube; corolla blue, 9–15 mm long, the upper lip inconspicuous, middle lobe of lower lip large and bifid; stamens 4, exserted; style branches short, subequal (Lesica et al. 2012. Range Comments
In Flathead County; an introduced ornamental, escaped sporadically throughout North America but native to Europe (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
