General Description
Taprooted annual. Stems often simple, erect, 5–30 cm. Herbage villous. Leaves nearly sessile, with 3 (1 or 5) narrowly elliptic leaflets, 5–20 mm long. Inflorescence of solitary pedicellate flowers subtended by a leaflet-like bract. Flowers pale yellow; calyx tube ca. 1 mm long; sepals linear, 2–5 mm long; keel 4–8 mm long. Legume 15–35 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Our plants are variety helleri (Britton) Isley.
