General Description
Stems yellow to purplish. Inflorescence of compact, few- to many-flowered glomerules. Flowers sessile, 2–3 mm long, 5-merous; calyx membranous, purplish, the lobes ovate; corolla tube longer than the calyx, the lobes acute; appendages reaching the middle of the tube; stamens barely surpassed by the corolla lobes; stigmas linear. Capsule circumscissile (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
