General Description
Shrubs. Stems erect, branched, 2–4 m; twigs puberulent. Leaf blades lanceolate with acute tips, 2–6 cm long, pubescent beneath. Inflorescence peduncles 10–15 mm long; bracts linear, 4–6 mm long. Flowers: sepals ciliate; corolla white, ca. 15 mm long, pubescent, lobes longer than the tube. Berry red (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
Introduced mainly to northeastern U.S.; native to Japan (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
