General Description
Rhizomatous perennial. Stems prostrate or twining, 1–3 m long. Herbage glabrous to sparsely pubescent. Leaves sagittate, acuminate, cordate-based, 3–8 cm long; petiole 1–7 cm long. Flowers solitary; peduncle 1–10 cm long; calyx 8–17 mm long, the segments lanceolate, completely enveloped by 2 subtending, leaf-like bracts; corolla white, 3–7 cm long; stigmas 2-lobed, stamens included. Capsule ca. 1 cm long, 1-locular (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
