General Description
Stems reddish, decumbent to prostrate, 5–25 cm. Leaf blades green, fleshy, glabrous, lanceolate to triangular-hastate, 1–6 cm long with dentate margins. Inflorescence glomerules 2–3 mm diameter, in upper leaf axils and a terminal spike. Flowers: calyx 3- to 5-parted, segments green, almost fully united, <1 mm long; stamen 1. Seed ovoid, smooth, 0.6–0.9 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
In MT scattered across ten counties from Lincoln and Deer Lodge east to Roosevelt and Prairie counties; WA and MT south to CA and CO, also in South America (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
