Diagnostic Characteristics
Variety humile (Hook.) S. Watson has ascending to erect stems and deeply dentate leaf margins (Clemants and Mosyakin 2003 in Fl. N. Amer. Vol. 4).

Range Comments
Widespread but rarely common across much of northern and western North America (Kartesz 2009).
