General Description
Monoecious or dioecious annual, farinose to glabrous. Stems erect to ascending, 20–100 cm. Leaf blades glabrate, up to 10 cm long, narrowly lanceolate to ovate-hastate with entire to deeply dentate margins. Inflorescence axillary and terminal, interrupted spikes of glomerules. Male flowers mostly 5-parted. Female flowers with a calyx, the pistillate bracts nearly separate. Mature pistillate bracts swollen, deltoid, 3–6 mm long with entire to dentate margins and rarely tuberculate faces (
