General Description
Glabrous, short-lived perennial. Stems erect, 20–80 cm. Leaves: basal few; cauline lanceolate to oblanceolate, 2–7 cm long. Inflorescence a narrow cyme. Flowers: calyx ca. 20-veined, ellipsoid, 8–11 mm long; petals white; the blade 2-lobed, to 5 mm long with 2 appendages; styles 3 the stigmas exserted. Capsules slightly longer and broader than calyx, opening by 6 slits (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
