General Description
Perennial with puberulent foliage from a branched caudex, forming loose mats. Stems trailing to ascending, 10–40 cm. Leaves sessile, linear, erect, 15–25 mm long. Inflorescence a few-flowered, linear-bracted, open cyme, rarely 1-flowered. Flowers: calyx 25- to 30-veined, 8–17 mm long, glabrous; petals pink, the blade 4–9 mm long. Capsule 12–13 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
Much of temperate North America. Introduced from Europe. One collection from Beaverhead County (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
