General Description
Annual or biennial. Stems 15–50 cm, hairy near nodes. Leaves hirsute, linear, 2–8 cm long, those of the stem erect. Inflorescence of few, bracteate, several-flowered, tight clusters. Flowers: calyx ca. 20-veined, 10–20 mm long, pubescent; petals deep pink with white dots, 15–22 mm long. Capsule 10–16 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
