General Description
Perennial from a branched caudex, forming dense mats. Stems erect, simple, 2–6 cm. Leaves needle-like with dilated, scarious bases, glabrous, 5–10 mm long; those of sterile stems shorter. Inflorescence several-flowered, congested, glandular-hairy. Flowers: sepals glabrous, lanceolate, pungent, scarious-margined, 5–8 mm long; petals oblanceolate, 6–8 mm long.
