Perennial, spreading by horizontal roots or stolons. Stems erect to ascending, 40–80 cm. Leaves basal and cauline; the basal rosette present only the first year; stem leaves 3–11 cm long, oblanceolate, strongly dentate, auriculate-clasping, sessile. Vestiture of sparse, simple hairs below, glabrous above. Petals yellow, 1–2 mm long. Fruit mostly sterile, ovoid silicles 1–2 mm long; the fertile ca. 3 mm long, glabrous; style 0.5–1 mm long; pedicels ascending, 7–10 mm long (
