General Description
Annual. Stems ascending to erect, 5–25 cm. Herbage strigose below, becoming hispid in the inflorescence. Leaves 1–5 cm long. Inflorescence minutely bracteate. Flowers calyx ca. 5 mm long in fruit, symmetrical; corolla ca. 2 mm long, limb 2–4 mm across. Nutlets lanceolate, ca. 2 mm long, glabrous (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Our plants are variety micranthus (Piper) I.M.Johnst.

Range Comments
OR to MT, south to CA and NV; known from Lake County (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
