General Description
Perennial. Stems erect, simple or branched, 30–100 cm. Leaves: the basal oblanceolate, short-petiolate, becoming sessile above, 3–20 cm long. Flowers: bracts leaf-like; calyx 4–6 mm long, divided to mid-length; corolla tube 6–8 mm long, lobes 3–6 mm long. Nutlets 3–4 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
