General Description
Perennial. Stems erect, simple, 15–70 cm. Leaves: the basal oblanceolate, petiolate, 5–30 cm long, becoming lance-ovate and sessile above. Flowers: bracts leaf-like; calyx ca. 10 mm long, expanded in fruit, divided to below the middle; corolla tube 9–11 mm long, lobes 8–10 mm long. Nutlets erect, 5–9 mm long(Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
