General Description
Usually biennial. Stems erect, mostly unbranched, 30–70 cm. Leaves tomentose beneath, greenish above, glandular, 3–8 cm long; basal withered at flowering; cauline 4–10 cm long, narrowly lanceolate to oblanceolate, mostly sessile, often with decurrent bases. Glomerules terminal in a close hemispheric to pyramidal inflorescence, surpassing subtending leaves. Involucres 5–6 mm high; phyllaries white, acute, tomentose at the base. Inner corollas 3–4 mm long. Achenes 0.5–1 mm long; pappus deciduous separately (
