General Description
Stems erect, 30–120 cm. Herbage glabrate to sparsely villous. Leaves sessile to short-petiolate; blades lanceolate to obovate, entire, 3–10 cm long, the lowest deciduous. Inflorescence open, leafy-corymbiform; peduncles puberulent to sparsely glandular. Involucre narrowly campanulate, 6–10 mm high; phyllaries imbricate, lanceolate, ciliate, glandular-pubescent; outer green; inner outlined in purple. Rays 8 to 13, white to light purple; ligules 12–22 mm long. Disk flowers 10 to 35; corolla 7–9 mm long. Achenes obconic, compressed, cylindrical, 3–5 mm long, puberulent (
