General Description
Rhizomatous perennial. Stems ascending to erect, 15–60 cm. Herbage glabrate to strigose. Leaves cauline, sessile or subsessile, glabrate to scabrous, ciliate, linear to linear-oblanceolate, entire, 2–10 cm long, the lowest deciduous. Inflorescence paniculate; peduncles strigose. Involucre campanulate, 5–7 mm high; phyllaries well imbricate, oblanceolate, strigose, white below, green-tipped. Rays 15 to 40, blue to pink; ligules 5–10 mm long. Disk flowers 15 to 40, yellow, often purple-tipped; corolla 4–7 mm long. Achenes obconic, 2–3 mm long, pubescent (
