A native species of the Californian Floristic Province that may be a recent introduction into western Montana. The 2 known collections from Montana both came from disturbed sites.
 
General Description
Stems usually prostrate, branched. Leaves oblanceolate, 4–10 mm long. Heads 2–4 mm high; receptacle scales ca. 2 mm long. Achenes narrowly obovoid, compressed, ca.1 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
