General Description
Taprooted perennial usually with a branched caudex. Stems ascending, 4–30 cm. Herbage short-hirsute to strigose. Leaves basal and cauline; blades linear-oblanceolate to obovate, entire, 1–8 cm long, the largest with 3 veins, narrower and sessile above. Heads radiate, 1 to 10. Involucres hemispheric, 4–7 mm high; phyllaries in 3 to 4 series, minutely glandular, villous-hirsute. Rays 30 to 100, white to blue; ligules 5–10 mm long. Disk corollas 2–4 mm long.
