General Description
Taprooted perennial. Stems erect, 20–70 cm. Herbage gray-tomentose, sometimes sparse. Leaf blades acuminate, lanceolate, 8–20 cm long, pinnately lobed ½- to 3/4-way to the midvein into lanceolate, mostly entire segments. Heads 10 to 40. Involucre turbinate, 10–15 mm high; phyllaries lanceolate, tomentose, usually without setae. Rays 7 to 12; ligules 14–30 mm long. Achenes tan, 6–9 mm long, not beaked (Lesica et al. 2012.
