Diagnostic Characteristics
Variety graveolens can be distinguished by others based on the following characters: leaves greater than 1.5 mm wide, 1 to 5 veined; involucre green, nearly glabrous; corolla lobes 0.6–1.5 mm, glabrous; corolla tubes puberulent or glabrous (Urbatsch et al., 2003, Fl. North America, Vol. 20; Lesica 2012).
Range Comments
MT, MB, and ND south to ID, NV, AZ, NM, and TX (Kartesz 2009).

Priaries and plains in slightly alkaline soils; 200–2000 m (Urbatsch et al. 2003).
