State Rank Reason (see State Rank above)
Artemisia vulgaris is a plant native to Eurasia and brought to North America by early settlers (Schultz in Flora of North America 2007). It is grown as a medicinal plant, and has many morphological forms. Since 1976 specimens have occasionally been collected from disturbed areas in Montana, including gardens. It is unknown if more natural populations persist in Montana. A conservation status rank is not applicable (SNA) because the plant is an exotic (non-native) in Montana that is not a suitable target for conservation activities.
