General Description
Short-rhizomatous perennial. Stems clustered, simple, erect, 30–90 cm. Herbage glabrous, aromatic. Leaves cauline, fascicled, linear-lanceolate, sessile, 1–8 cm long, usually entire. Inflorescence leafy paniculate. Involucre hemispheric, 1.5–3 mm long; phyllaries green, tan, or purple, glabrous or glandular; receptacle glabrous. Disk flowers 15 to 40, female and male, glandular; corolla 1–2 mm long; yellow to purple. Achenes glabrous, up to 1 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press.
