Glabrous taprooted biennial. Stems erect, 20–80 cm. Leaves basal and cauline with long, sheathing petioles; blades lanceolate in outline, 8–15 cm long, 3 to 4 times pinnately divided into short, linear segments. Umbels compound, terminal and axillary; rays unequal 1–4 cm long; involucral and involucel bracts minute or absent. Flowers white; stylopodium hemispheric; petals ca. 1 mm long. Mericarps glabrous, elliptic, slightly compressed perpendicular to the commissure, 3–4 mm long; ribs raised; oil tubes 1 per interval (
