Non-migratory.
Habitat
Native to eastern broad-leafed deciduous forests, thrives in Climax Forest.
Food Habits
Will store (cache or hoard) food.
Ecology
Quite arboreal. Intraspecific intolerance in vicinity of nest, but tolerant while foraging.
Reproductive Characteristics
Breeding season from late December to the following September. Includes 2 peaks (January to February and May to June). Young born February to April and late June to August. Some females produce 0 to 1 litters per year. Altricial young.
