The Blue-headed Vireo breeds across Canada from the southern Northwest Territories east to Newfoundland and the Maritime Provinces and south through the Upper Midwest east to Pennsylvania through the Appalachian Mountains south through northern Georgia (Sibley 2014). In Montana, this species has several late summer and fall records over the past decade (Montana Bird Distribution Committee 2012).
