The Scissor-tailed Flycatcher breeds from southeastern Colorado and southeastern New Mexico east through Nebraska and southwestern Missouri, and south through Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas (Sibley 2014). In Montana, this species has several summer and fall records (Montana Bird Distribution Committee 2012).
